This time we did a research on bathroom/bathtub cleaning.
This time we conducted a survey on bathroom/bathtub cleaning, and also did a research on frequency of cleaning, main cleaning areas/spots and important points while buying cleaning detergent.
First, when we asked respondents the frequency of cleaning the bathroom, about 70% of them answered that “I clean the bathroom more than once a month.”* Among them, those who answered that “I clean the bathroom 1-3 times a week.” were the most common, accounting for about 30% of the total. It seems that many people clean the bathroom regularly. *The percentage of those who clean the bathroom more than once a month is the total of those who answered “I clean the bathroom ‘almost every day,’ ‘4-6 times a week,’ ‘1-3 times a week,’ ‘2-3 times a month,’ and ‘about once a month.‘”
Next, we asked those who answered “I clean the bathroom more than once a month.” about the area they clean more than once a month. The most common answer was “bathtub,” about 90% of them selected the bathtub. After bathtub “floor,” “drain,” and “walls” were selected. These areas are also cleaned more than once a month by more than half of the people we did a research on. On the other hand, the rate of the people who clean the “ceiling” more than once a month were less than 20%. This shows that the areas that are difficult to reach by hands are tend to be cleaned less frequently.
We also asked those who answered “I clean the bathroom more than once a month” the points that are important to them while buying cleaning detergent.
“Cleaning power” and “price” were selected as the important things by more than half of them.
Other answers were “antibacterial properties,” “stain prevention,” and “efficacy,” each selected by 30%-40% of the people.
Based on these results, we found out that many people clean the bathroom on a regular basis, and they purchase the cleaning detergents based on its “cleaning power” and “price”. We hope that these results will be helpful in using as a reference of your bathroom cleaning, planning strategies for in-store sales, and considering product lineups and promotions to accommodate consumer needs.
