“Watching on TV” is the most popular way to watch sports, selected by about 80%.

This time we did a research on sports.
The main reason for people using video streaming services is “because games can be watched in the spare time.”
With the arrival of autumn, the air is crisp and clear and the season that cool breezes blowing comfortably has arrived. This is the best season to enjoy watching sports.
This time, we conducted a survey about that sports.
First, we asked about interest in sports, and found that about 48% of people were “interested in sports”* and 38% were “not interested in sports,”* the difference was about 10%.
*Interested in sports…The total of “very much interested in sports” + “somewhat interested in sports”.
*Not interested in sports…The total of “not interested in sports at all” + “not much interested in sports”.
Next, we asked those to who were interested in sports how they watch sports in a form that allowed multiple answers, and found that the way selected by the most people was “watching on TV,” and more than 80% of them use this means for watching sports. Watching on TV seems to be chosen as an easy and widespread way of watching the games.
Also, “watching games at the actual venue/place” and “watching games from a video streaming services/platform” were each used by around half of the people, which shows that these types of watching games are also popular. They both have different good points respectively, such as the enjoying the realistic feeling of the actual place and the convenience of streaming services through the Internet, where viewers can choose the way to watch the games that best matches their purposes.
Furthermore, when we narrowed down the respondents to those who watch games from a video streaming services, and asked them the reason why they use it, we found that the main reason was “because I can watch the games in my spare time.” The second most common reason was “because I can watch the games doing other things.”, which also was selected by half of the respondents. It seems that the streaming platform is highly evaluated for the reason that the games can be watched while performing the task at any time and at any place.
Based on these results, watching sports are mainly enjoyed “on TV,” “at the actual place,” and “streaming services.” They are particularly chosen for the flexibility of their TV and streaming platform.
The ways to enjoy watching sports have diversified over time, and people might choose the way of watching games that matches their lifestyles.
